This weekend we loaded up the car and headed to Nashville for some very dear friends wedding :). This was the farthest we have ever traveled with Charlie. And let me say, he did pretty dang well :). We left at 1 in Friday afternoon and made it all the way to Jackson, TN before we had to stop. Charlie slept almost the whole way there. Then we walked around Walmart in Jackson for a while to give Charlie a break from his car seat. When we got back in the car he went back to sleep. He did so well in the car. Once we arrived at the hotel it was dinner time for Charlie. So, we fed him, bathed him, and tried to put him to sleep but he was not having it! He didn't go to sleep until about 10:15 and this past week he has been going to sleep around 7:30. Oh well, we aren't too concerned with time schedules.
We are in the process of transitioning Charlie out of his nap nanny. This is a process. He LOVES the nap nanny and sleeps so well in it but on Wednesday morning I was laying in bed watching tv with Charlie lounging in his nap nanny and he rolled over in it. So I decided it was time to put it away. Charlie all of a sudden loves to roll...back to tummy....tummy to back...it doesn't matter. So we are having to put away a lot of things... So, his sleep has been a little restless lately, but he is starting to get used to having so much room. So he woke up once in the night both nights this weekend but slept till almost 9:15 in the mornings...which was glorious for me and Matt.
Saturday we got up, got ready, went and ate lunch and then it was wedding time. It was great to see some old friends and catch up with people we haven't seen in a while and let them meet Charlie! After the wedding we went to the mall and ate Cheesecake factory with Matt's parents and my parents. It was awesome. And yes I had cheesecake.
It was quite different staying in a hotel with a baby. Washing bottles, feeding baby, bath time.....so many things were an adventure this weekend. But, Charlie was such a trooper the whole time :)
Coming home he didn't sleep as much and we had to make more stops but that's ok....I kind of enjoyed being able to stop and stretch my legs so much :)....
Well, today was my first day back at work. I missed Charlie a bunch. I know he was in good hands all day, but I couldn't help thinking "I would so much rather be home cuddling and playing with my sweet boy." Hopefully this week will go by fast :)

Green Beans
Charlie is doing really well eating solids. After day 2 he was really starting to get the hang of things. On Saturday I fed him in the morning and he was a little confused. He was acting like "This is not the normal time that I eat!" We went to dinner with Matt's family and friends for his mom's 60th birthday. Charlie did really great, except he was a little cranky when we got home. He had to miss his normal dinner time because we were out and there was no way I was going to feed him in public because he is still SUPER messy! ha! Then, Sunday we went to church so I wasn't able to feed him in the morning. So, I fed him last night at his normal time, but this time I gave him green beans. He's been eating rice cereal and apples (which he LOVES). So, I was kind of scared to try the green beans because I knew they weren't going to taste as good as the apples. But, he did excellent. He actually ate every bite that I gave him! He really seemed to enjoy the green beans. Here are a few pictures that Matt snapped while I was feeding him. (notice the green beans in the eyebrows and on the forehead). That boy really loves to eat! :)
I can't believe this is my last week of summer! It has gone by so fast. I'm already gearing up for this school year and going in on Wednesday to work in my room. I'll post pictures later this week of my classroom/office. Hope you guys are enjoying your last bit of summer. Stay cool!

4 Months Old!
Charlie turned 4 months old on Monday! Wow, it is hard to believe he is already so old! I was making a shutterfly book yesterday of him and looking through some old pictures. He has changed SO MUCH since he was born! At his appointment yesterday he weighed 17 pounds and 8 ounces (in the 98th percentile) and was 27 inches long (in the 99th percentile). The doctor just laughed when he saw how tall he was and said "That is just off the charts." lol....I think he takes after his daddy :).
Charlie has been spitting up a LOT lately and so the doctor switched him to a different formula and put him on Zantac. Hopefully, this will help. Also, he told us to go ahead and start him on solids! (YAY!). So, last night he tried cereal for the first time. He wasn't real sure about it. He didn't dislike it, he just wasn't sure what he was supposed to do with it. By the end he was starting to swallow better, but he was hilarious with it at first.
I can't believe my baby is getting so big so fast! I am trying to soak up every minute I can with him before school starts back in a week and a half. Hope you all are enjoying your summer as much as you can in this miserable heat!

Weekend Fun
Well, this weekend was WONDERFUL! Matt was off on Friday and so we decided to head up to Heber Springs. We took our time packing and getting up there on Friday and it was so relaxing. Charlie did pretty good traveling. He slept almost the entire way. I had planned to cook dinner for my parents before they go there on Friday so once we got there off to Walmart we went. (I always say it's not a complete trip to Heber unless we go to Walmart :)). Unfortunately I wasn't very focused and ended up making 4 trips to walmart before the day was over! HA! Charlie loves to go to the river because Mom & Dad's house has windows all across the back and he LOVES to just sit and look out them!
We had planned to go to the cardboard boat races on Saturday but when it ended up being 105 degrees we decided against it. I was worried that Charlie would get really hot and fussy so we stayed home and watched the Olympics, which Charlie really enjoyed. Matt, me, Mom, and Dad played 5 crowns on Saturday evening and just chilled. It was wonderfully relaxing.
We slept in on Sunday and just laid around until we packed up and came back about 4 Sunday afternoon. When we got back Sunday afternoon we went to Mom & Dad's and went swimming! The water felt great! And, Charlie LOVES to swim! My sister-in-law, Stephanie came in and spent Sunday night so it was good to see her too. Charlie loves his aunt Stephy!
Overall, I don't think this weekend could have been anymore relaxing. It was great to spend time away.
