I cannot believe that tomorrow is December 1st. Wow, this year has flown by.

Charlie turned 8 months old today! He is crawling all over the place!!! Matt had to baby proof the house a few weekends ago....and let me just say I am not a fan of having to undo those things EVERY time I need to get into a drawer or cabinet! Oh well, as long as Charlie is safe :).

Charlie has 2 teeth that have come through the gums. They are not fully in but they are getting close. He loves to chew on everything. He is still eating stage 2 foods for the most part but loves table food. He also loves yogurt melts. He feels like such a big boy when he is eating them.

We had to move to the next car seat last weekend. He was too big for the other one. He seems to like this one just as well, which is a huge relief to me. I was afraid he was going to hate it.

Charlie got a really bad cold this week and was coughing a bunch and had lots of congestion. I absolutely hate it when he is sick. Especially with this stuff because there is no medicine he can take for it. I stayed home with him Wednesday and we just cuddled and layed around the house. I think this made him feel better! (or maybe it just made ME feel better :) ). He seems to be feeling much better today though (thank goodness!).

Charlie was a tree frog for Halloween. He wasn't really a fan of Halloween. He didn't seem to understand why I dressed him up in a costume and took him places to see people :). Luckily, I took him to The Old Mill a few days before halloween and took some good pictures. He was really happy that day and didn't seem to mind the costume. However, halloween was a different story. Oh well, there is always next year.

Thanksgiving was good. Charlie didn't want to take a nap that day though because there was too much going on and too many people. But he seemed to enjoy himself.

We got our Christmas tree out last weekend and he discovered it this week. He is not real sure about it. I think he is confused why we have a tree in our house?! haha.

I hope you had a wonderful, relaxing Thanksgiving holiday. And, buckle up because Christmas is just around the corner!

Here are some of my favorite pics from the last couple of months. Sorry there are so many, I just couldn't seem to narrow them down. They are all my favorites :).

6 months old!

Wow....where has the time gone????.....

So, it has been a while since I have updated. But unfortunately this year has been CRAZY at school. Things are going good but between school and Charlie it seems there is never any free time. (But I'm not complaining! :) ).

Charlie turned six months old this past Sunday! I cannot believe he is growing so fast. He is into everything lately! He started sitting up by himself about three weeks ago. And he LOVES to roll! Front to back then back to front. He rolls across the room all the time! And just last week he has started to get up on all fours and rock back and forth. I'm pretty sure he is going to be crawling soon. I am not looking forward to those days.

He has started drooling SO BAD in the last few weeks. I'm thinking we are teething because everything goes into the mouth and he bites on it. Not just sucks on it like he used to. He is actually gnawing on stuff now! I sure do hope those teeth come soon.

He is all of a sudden really into toys. He loves anything that lights up and talks (I think he gets that from his daddy). So we made a trip to ToysRus a few weeks ago. Hopefully this will tide him over until Christmas. He is eating stage two foods now. The thicker the better. He really doesn't like anything that is runny (can you blame him?). But I have tried a few of the stage 3 meats and he is not a fan. He does not like anything that has texture to it. See for yourself:

Last week my parents were out of town and Charlie stayed with my grandma on Monday and Rhonda on Friday. So, Tuesday through Thursday he stayed with some friends of ours that have a 2 year old. Charlie had a BLAST!(I think Parker did too!). He had so much fun playing with Parker.

He is still in size three diapers and is wearting 12 month and some 18 month clothing. And lately we have started wearing shoes. He is in a size 3 or 4 shoe. Check out some of his kicks:

He took his 6 month pictures last Saturday and he did great! He smiled almost the entire time! Here are some of my favorite pictures over the last few months. Hopefully it won't be so long before I can update again!

Nashville

This weekend we loaded up the car and headed to Nashville for some very dear friends wedding :). This was the farthest we have ever traveled with Charlie. And let me say, he did pretty dang well :). We left at 1 in Friday afternoon and made it all the way to Jackson, TN before we had to stop. Charlie slept almost the whole way there. Then we walked around Walmart in Jackson for a while to give Charlie a break from his car seat. When we got back in the car he went back to sleep. He did so well in the car. Once we arrived at the hotel it was dinner time for Charlie. So, we fed him, bathed him, and tried to put him to sleep but he was not having it! He didn't go to sleep until about 10:15 and this past week he has been going to sleep around 7:30. Oh well, we aren't too concerned with time schedules.

We are in the process of transitioning Charlie out of his nap nanny. This is a process. He LOVES the nap nanny and sleeps so well in it but on Wednesday morning I was laying in bed watching tv with Charlie lounging in his nap nanny and he rolled over in it. So I decided it was time to put it away. Charlie all of a sudden loves to roll...back to tummy....tummy to back...it doesn't matter. So we are having to put away a lot of things... So, his sleep has been a little restless lately, but he is starting to get used to having so much room. So he woke up once in the night both nights this weekend but slept till almost 9:15 in the mornings...which was glorious for me and Matt.

Saturday we got up, got ready, went and ate lunch and then it was wedding time. It was great to see some old friends and catch up with people we haven't seen in a while and let them meet Charlie! After the wedding we went to the mall and ate Cheesecake factory with Matt's parents and my parents. It was awesome. And yes I had cheesecake.

It was quite different staying in a hotel with a baby. Washing bottles, feeding baby, bath time.....so many things were an adventure this weekend. But, Charlie was such a trooper the whole time :)

Coming home he didn't sleep as much and we had to make more stops but that's ok....I kind of enjoyed being able to stop and stretch my legs so much :)....

Well, today was my first day back at work. I missed Charlie a bunch. I know he was in good hands all day, but I couldn't help thinking "I would so much rather be home cuddling and playing with my sweet boy."  Hopefully this week will go by fast :)

Green Beans

Charlie is doing really well eating solids. After day 2 he was really starting to get the hang of things. On  Saturday I fed him in the morning and he was a little confused. He was acting like "This is not the normal time that I eat!" We went to dinner with Matt's family and friends for his mom's 60th birthday. Charlie did really great, except he was a little cranky when we got home. He had to miss his normal dinner time because we were out and there was no way I was going to feed him in public because he is still SUPER messy! ha! Then, Sunday we went to church so I wasn't able to feed him in the morning. So, I fed him last night at his normal time, but this time I gave him green beans. He's been eating rice cereal and apples (which he LOVES). So, I was kind of scared to try the green beans because I knew they weren't going to taste as good as the apples. But, he did excellent. He actually ate every bite that I gave him! He really seemed to enjoy the green beans. Here are a few pictures that Matt snapped while I was feeding him. (notice the green beans in the eyebrows and on the forehead). That boy really loves to eat! :)

I can't believe this is my last week of summer! It has gone by so fast. I'm already gearing up for this school year and going in on Wednesday to work in my room. I'll post pictures later this week of my classroom/office. Hope you guys are enjoying your last bit of summer. Stay cool!

4 Months Old!

Charlie turned 4 months old on Monday! Wow, it is hard to believe he is already so old! I was making a shutterfly book yesterday of him and looking through some old pictures. He has changed SO MUCH since he was born! At his appointment yesterday he weighed 17 pounds and 8 ounces (in the 98th percentile) and was 27 inches long (in the 99th percentile). The doctor just laughed when he saw how tall he was and said "That is just off the charts." lol....I think he takes after his daddy :).

Charlie has been spitting up a LOT lately and so the doctor switched him to a different formula and put him on Zantac. Hopefully, this will help. Also, he told us to go ahead and start him on solids! (YAY!). So, last night he tried cereal for the first time. He wasn't real sure about it. He didn't dislike it, he just wasn't sure what he was supposed to do with it. By the end he was starting to swallow better, but he was hilarious with it at first.

I can't believe my baby is getting so big so fast! I am trying to soak up every minute I can with him before school starts back in a week and a half. Hope you all are enjoying your summer as much as you can in this miserable heat!
